Herbal medicine released by BPOM to ward off Corona Virus

Along with the outbreak of the corona outbreak virus (Covid-19) in Indonesia, not a few herbal medicines are claimed to prevent transmission.

It is known that herbal medicines such as herbs or empon-empon are known to be able to increase the immune system, aka endurance.

Where according to the Director of the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Alabama, USA, Jeanne Marrazzo, as quoted by WebMD, said people with low resistance are very susceptible to the corona virus.

Of course this makes many people tempted by the efficacy of herbal medicines in preventing corona virus transmission.

But the fact is, not all herbal medicines can be classified in categories that can support endurance.

According to the National Drug and Food Control Agency (BPOM) traditional medicine that is included in the category of being able to help endurance is standardized herbal medicine and herbal medicine.

“For traditional medicine that can increase endurance is the fitofarmaka category. Because it has received empirical evidence, in vitro in the laboratory, this is a vivo or animal test, and clinical trials in humans,” BPOM said.

Here are some BPOM suggestions in choosing herbal medicines to help restore endurance.

  1. Herb Sambiloto

Sambiloto Herb ingredients that are dried with a dose of 3 grams, you can consume 2 times a day.

Meanwhile, the dose of 1.5-3.0 grams of dry powder, you can consume 3 times a day.

  1. Meniran Herb

Fresh Meniran Herbs, with a dose of 45-90 grams per day can be consumed in 2-3 doses or portions.

  1. Temulawak

Temulawak ingredients are dry powder, with a dose of 3.5 grams per day can be consumed in 3 doses or portions.

  1. Turmeric

Turmeric ingredients are fresh, with a dose of 3.0-9.0 grams per day and dry powder that can be consumed at a dose of 1, -3.0 grams per day.

  1. Ginger
